UH Seidman Cancer Center to Start a Trial on Advanced Melanoma

UH Seidman Cancer Center is initiating a first-of-its-kind clinical trial for treating patients with advanced melanoma, a skin cancer that claims more than 73,000 lives in the U.S. each year. Led by Julian Kim, MD, Henry Koon, MD, and Hillard Lazarus, MD, clinical researchers will activate patients’ cancer-fighting lymph node T cells using a method developed at UH Case Medical Center and Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. UH, the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center-NIH and the Immunogene Therapy Fund are funding the study.
