GI Fellowship Curriculum


Gastroenterology fellows rotate through a clinical core block during the first two years of training. They consult on the primary gastroenterology consultation service at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, gastroenterology consultation service at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center, liver consultation and transportation service at University Hospitals, IBD service at University Hospitals, and endoscopy services at both hospitals. The trainees spend the majority of their third year doing research and scholarly activity. Faculty members assist trainees as mentors in research, presentations, and publications. Areas of interest for research and study include immunology, gastrointestinal oncology, genetics, liver disease, therapeutic endoscopy, endoscopic ultrasound, inflammatory bowel disease and others.
