Infectious Diseases begin a Phase 1 study on an experimental anti-tuberculosis (TB) drug

Robert A. Salata, MD, Chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases, will begin a Phase 1 study on an experimental anti-tuberculosis (TB) drug, representing the first new class of anti-TB drugs in the past 60 years. The study is the first trial under a seven-year, $16.8 million contract awarded from the National Institutes of Health through Clinical Research Management to Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, University Hospitals Case Medical Center and Johns Hopkins University.
