Sarah Augustine honoured with Clinical Gender Equity Award

Box_AugustineDr. Sarah Augustine was honoured with the American Medical Women's Association Clinical Gender Equity Award.

This award is supported by the Women Faculty of the School of Medicine but decided upon by the senior year medical student body to honour a faculty member who the students feel exemplify the principle of gender equality in their teaching and who promote a gender-fair environment for education and training of physicians.

More about Sarah Augustine, MD
Dr. Augustine is a member of the Division of General Internal Medicine at Case Western Reserve University Department of Medicine. She is currently full time faculty at the Louis Stokes VAMC and Associate Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program.

Her clinical focus is inpatient general medicine with an additional focus of interest in the area of post-graduate medical education. Current interests include inpatient management of diabetes and resident inpatient quality improvement projects.

Additionally, she serves as preceptor for the preclinical course of the Science of Clinical Practice at the Case School of Medicine. Dr. Augustine attended medical school at Georgetown University School of Medicine and subsequently completed internship and residency at Northwestern’s Feinberg School of Medicine. After completing an additional year as chief resident at Northwestern, she took a faculty position at Case and worked as a hospitalist at University Hospitals of Cleveland for one year before taking a full time position at the VA. She currently serves as the Inpatient Medical Director at the VA since 2002.
